Privacy Policy
Safeguarding user privacy is a principle Frontpoint Adventures takes very seriously. We recognise that our users, and the personal information they entrust to us, are among the company’s most valuable assets.
This Privacy Policy sets out what we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. It forms part of your Terms & Conditions with us.
1. Protection of your data
Frontpoint Adventures keeps and processes user information — including any sensitive financial information gathered (as defined under the Information Technology Act, 2000), where applicable — on computers that may be safeguarded by both physical measures and reasonable technological safeguards and procedures, consistent with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it. If you object to your information being transferred or handled in this way, please refrain from using our website or any other social-media platform run by Frontpoint Adventures.
2. The information we gather
Frontpoint Adventures captures, stores and analyses the data available to us across any of our channels — our website, Facebook page, Twitter handle, Instagram handle, LinkedIn page or similar — as well as the physical forms and declarations submitted to us. This covers the data you provide on the website or on any other platform we operate.
That data allows us to take every possible step to keep our customers safe while they use any of our services or products.
3. How Frontpoint Adventures uses and processes customer data
We make a point of not sharing your information needlessly. Frontpoint Adventures uses it to improve your experience, though where safety or logistics require it we may need to pass your contact details to relevant vendors.
On every expedition we take photos, record video and produce other intellectual property, which may feature you in many instances. Unless a participant tells us otherwise, we treat permission as granted to use such creative material produced on our events. We also welcome you sharing photos or videos you make yourself, and we credit you appropriately before publishing such content publicly.
We additionally use customer data to:
- Keep customers safe — should we need to contact you about the safety of a purchased product, we will reach out only to explain the concern and offer you the choice to exchange, refund or repair the product at no additional cost.
- Send marketing and promotional messages, and other information that may interest you — only with your consent, and you may opt out of these communications at any time.
- Run and administer referral schemes, surveys, contests, promotions or events organised or sponsored by Frontpoint Adventures.
- Refine and improve our business practices and user experience through research and analytics carried out on the customer data.
- Study catchment areas and inform decisions about developing new products or services.
- Reach out to dissatisfied customers to address their concerns and grievances.
4. Google AdWords & Facebook remarketing tags
This website uses Google AdWords and Facebook remarketing to advertise on third-party sites to people who have visited us before — which can mean showing ads to past visitors who did not complete an action on our site. Such ads may appear on the Google search results page, on a site within the Google Display Network, or somewhere on Facebook. Third-party vendors, Google and Facebook among them, use cookies to serve ads based on a person’s earlier visits to the frontpointadventures.com website. Any data gathered is used in line with both our own privacy policy and the privacy policies of Google and Facebook.
We have updated our Analytics tracking code to support Display Advertising and to enable Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. We use this to understand, protect and serve our users better and to deliver the services they ask for. It may also help us settle disputes; fix problems; support a safe service; gauge interest in our products and services; tell users about online and offline offers, products, services and updates; personalise the user experience; guard against error, fraud and other criminal activity; enforce our terms and conditions; and for other purposes described to users at the point of collection.
As part of continually improving what we offer, we gather and analyse demographic and profile information about our users’ activity on the site. We may use it to tailor your experience — showing content we think will interest you and arranging it according to your preferences.
Through the Ads Settings, users can opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and adjust Google Display Network ads. Users may also opt out via Google Analytics’ currently available web opt-outs, and comparable options exist on Facebook.

5. Disclosure of information
Frontpoint Adventures may share personal information with its other corporate entities and affiliates, who may in turn market to users as a result — unless the user explicitly opts out.
Frontpoint Adventures may disclose personal information to third parties. Such disclosure may be needed to give users access to our services, to meet our legal obligations, to enforce our User Agreement, to support our marketing and advertising, or to prevent, detect, mitigate and investigate fraudulent or illegal activity connected with our Services. We do not disclose a user’s personal information to third parties for their own marketing and advertising without the user’s explicit consent.
Frontpoint Adventures may also disclose personal information where the law requires it, or in the good-faith belief that doing so is reasonably necessary to answer subpoenas, court orders or other legal process. We may disclose it to law-enforcement offices, third-party rights holders or others where we reasonably and in good faith believe it necessary to: enforce our Terms or Privacy Policy; respond to claims that an advertisement, posting or other content infringes a third party’s rights; or protect the rights, property or personal safety of our users or the public.
Frontpoint Adventures and its affiliates may share or sell some or all of a user’s personal information to another business entity should the company (or its assets) merge with, be acquired by, or undergo a reorganisation, amalgamation or restructuring involving that entity. Where such a transaction happens, the other business (or the newly combined entity) will be bound to honour this privacy policy in respect of the user’s personal information.
