Chamser Kangri
A 6,622 m giant above Tso Moriri
The trek
A high expedition to the 6,622 m Chamser Kangri above Tso Moriri, often paired with Lungser Kangri on the Rupshu plateau. (Pricing to be confirmed.)
Chamser Kangri, at 6,622 m, is one of the twin giants that rise above the sacred lake of Tso Moriri on the Rupshu plateau of eastern Ladakh, sharing its high plateau with Lungser Kangri. It is one of the more accessible true 6,600 m peaks in India — mostly non-technical snow slopes at extreme altitude — reached across the Changthang from the nomad village of Korzok.
Despite gentle gradients, the sheer altitude and cold make this a serious expedition demanding excellent acclimatisation and endurance. It is frequently combined with neighbouring Lungser Kangri. This is a placeholder listing seeded ahead of pricing — the route and dates will be finalised before it goes on sale.
