Lungser Kangri
The highest peak of the Rupshu plateau
The trek
A high expedition to the 6,666 m Lungser Kangri, the tallest peak of the Rupshu region above Tso Moriri in eastern Ladakh. (Pricing to be confirmed.)
Lungser Kangri, at 6,666 m, is the highest peak of the Rupshu region, rising above Tso Moriri on the Changthang plateau of eastern Ladakh beside its twin Chamser Kangri. A vast, mostly non-technical snow dome at extreme altitude, it offers one of the biggest and most attainable 6,600 m summits in India for well-acclimatised climbers, with a panorama across the lakes and ranges of eastern Ladakh into Tibet.
The gentle gradients belie a serious expedition where altitude and cold are the real challenges, demanding excellent acclimatisation and endurance. It is often combined with Chamser Kangri. This is a placeholder listing seeded ahead of pricing — the route and dates will be finalised before it goes on sale.
