The trek

A long, highly technical expedition to the 6,221 m summit of Indrasan, one of the hardest peaks of the Kullu Himalaya, beside Deo Tibba.

Indrasan, at 6,221 m, is the highest and one of the most technically demanding peaks of the Kullu Himalaya, standing beside Deo Tibba above the Malana and Jagatsukh valleys. Long considered a serious mountaineer's objective, it demands sustained technical climbing on rock, snow and ice at altitude, and a full expedition-length itinerary of approach, multiple high camps and a committing summit push.

This is an expedition for experienced climbers only, with fixed ropes, load ferries and a weather-dependent summit window supported by generous reserve days. The approach through the Kullu valleys is beautiful, but the climb itself is among the hardest on offer in Himachal. Best attempted in the pre- and post-monsoon seasons.
